Operation Northwoods โ The Pentagon's Admitted False Flag Plan
In 1962, the Joint Chiefs of Staff โ the five most senior military officers in the United States โ unanimously approved a plan called Operation Northwoods and submitted it to Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara. The plan proposed staging a series of attacks on US soil and Cuban exiles, to be blamed on Fidel Castro's Cuba, with the objective of creating public support for a US military invasion of Cuba. Proposed operations included: blowing up a US ship in Guantanamo Bay and blaming Cuba; staging fake Cuban MiG attacks on civilian airliners; shooting down a drone aircraft in the Florida Keys and claiming it was a US passenger plane; and fomenting "Communist Cuban terror" in Miami and Washington D.C.
President Kennedy rejected the plan and marginalised General Lyman Lemnitzer, its primary advocate. The documents were classified until they were declassified in 1997 under the JFK Assassination Records Collection Act and published by the National Security Archive. The Northwoods documents are publicly available in full on the National Security Archive website. The fact that the US Joint Chiefs unanimously approved a plan to kill American citizens and attack American vessels while blaming a foreign enemy is not disputed by any credible historian. It is simply rarely mentioned in mainstream political discussion.

Gulf of Tonkin (1964)
On August 4, 1964, President Lyndon B. Johnson announced that North Vietnamese torpedo boats had attacked US Navy vessels in the Gulf of Tonkin โ for the second time in two days. Congress passed the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, authorising military force without a declaration of war. The August 2 attack was real. The August 4 attack was fabricated. NSA documents declassified in 2005 by the NSA historian Robert Hanyok concluded that NSA signals intelligence analysts had "skewed" the evidence and that "no attack happened" on August 4. The fabricated attack triggered a war in which 58,220 Americans died and over 3 million Vietnamese were killed.
The USS Liberty (1967)
On June 8, 1967, Israeli Air Force jets and torpedo boats attacked the USS Liberty โ a clearly-marked US Navy signals intelligence ship โ for 75 minutes in international waters during the Six-Day War. 34 US sailors were killed, 171 wounded. Israel described it as a "case of mistaken identity." Declassified NSA documents, survivor testimony, and multiple US military investigations suggest the attack was deliberate. The intent, according to declassified signals intercepts and the testimony of NSA officers, was to sink the ship with all hands, blame Egypt, and draw the United States into direct war against Arab states. President Johnson recalled two aircraft carrier strike groups sent to assist the Liberty. No US investigation has ever held senior decision-makers accountable.
Operation Gladio (1950s-1990s)
Operation Gladio โ a NATO "stay-behind" network across Western Europe, confirmed by Italian Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti in 1990 and subsequently by parliamentary investigations in Belgium, Switzerland, and other nations โ was a network of trained intelligence assets who conducted terrorism attributed to left-wing groups, to generate political support for right-wing governments and resistance to Soviet influence. The 1980 Bologna railway bombing (85 dead) โ Italy's deadliest post-war terrorist attack โ was attributed to left-wing terrorists. Italian parliamentary investigation concluded it was carried out by neo-fascists with MSI (Italian Social Movement) connections and covered up by Italian intelligence with NATO knowledge.
The Historical Pattern
The false flag pattern recurs throughout documented history: The Reichstag Fire (1933) โ burned almost certainly by the Nazis, blamed on a communist, used to suspend the Weimar constitution; The Gleiwitz Incident (1939) โ SS units dressed as Polish soldiers "attacked" a German radio station, providing the pretext for the invasion of Poland; Pearl Harbor foreknowledge (1941) โ declassified documents indicate the Roosevelt administration had advance intelligence of the Japanese attack plan and chose not to act, recognising it would provide the casus belli needed for US entry into World War II; Operation Canned Goods (Germany, 1939) โ same Gleiwitz pattern, staging SS-killed concentration camp prisoners as Polish attackers.
The Hegelian Framework
Every successful false flag follows a three-part structure described by philosopher Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel: Thesis (the attack โ "problem"); Antithesis (the crisis response โ "reaction"); Synthesis (the pre-planned policy outcome โ "solution"). The Patriot Act โ a 342-page piece of legislation โ was passed 45 days after 9/11, having been drafted over years prior. The global War on Terror โ justified by 9/11 โ was the basis for military operations in seven countries over 20 years. The PATRIOT Act surveilled domestic citizens. The Iraq invasion, predicated on fabricated WMD intelligence, killed approximately 200,000 civilians. The synthesis was always the goal. The attack was its justification.
