The most common objection to secret society research is: "Something that large couldn't be kept secret." This objection reflects a fundamental misunderstanding of how these organisations operate. They are not secret in the sense that their existence is hidden — most are openly listed in directories, have public membership rolls at their lower degrees, and conduct publicly visible charitable activities. The secret is not the existence of the organisation. The secret is what is taught to, and required of, members at the upper degrees.
The Illuminati: Origins & Evolution
The Order of the Illuminati
Adam Weishaupt, a Jesuit-trained professor of canon law at the University of Ingolstadt, founded the Order of the Illuminati on May 1, 1776 — a date still ritually celebrated. Weishaupt's stated goals were the abolition of monarchy, private property, family, nationalism, and religion — to be replaced by a single world government ruled by an enlightened elite.
The Bavarian government discovered and banned the order in 1785, and Weishaupt was exiled. Mainstream history presents this as the end of the Illuminati. Researchers argue that the suppression simply drove the organisation underground, where it merged with existing Masonic lodges — particularly the Grand Orient lodges of France and later the United States. The radical Jacobin clubs that engineered the French Revolution's bloodiest phase had documented Illuminati connections through Masonic networks.
The term "Illuminati" today serves as shorthand for whatever the upper tier of the control network calls itself. The specific lineage is less important than the continuity of intent: a global technocratic governance structure, the elimination of national sovereignty, and the subjugation of the general population to the authority of an unelected elite operating under occult philosophical principles.
Freemasonry: The Architecture of Power
The Grand Lodge System
Modern Freemasonry traces its institutional origins to the founding of the Grand Lodge of England in 1717. It organises its members into a hierarchy of degrees — 3 degrees in the "Blue Lodge" (Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft, Master Mason), with higher-degree bodies like the Scottish Rite (33 degrees) and the York Rite beyond that.
At its lower degrees, Freemasonry presents itself as a fraternal, philanthropic organisation with a vague quasi-religious ethic focused on moral self-improvement. Tens of millions of men worldwide have been members at these levels and experienced nothing more sinister than charitable work and fraternal bonding. This is intentional. Albert Pike, the 19th-century Sovereign Grand Commander of the Scottish Rite, wrote explicitly in Morals and Dogma (1871):
"The Blue Degrees are but the outer court or portico of the Temple. Part of the symbols are displayed there to the Initiate, but he is intentionally misled by false interpretations. It is not intended that he shall understand them; but it is intended that he shall imagine he understands them."
— Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma, 1871
The upper degrees of Scottish Rite Freemasonry converge on an esoteric doctrine that researchers have extensively documented: the veneration of Lucifer — not as the Judeo-Christian devil, but as the "light-bearer," the liberator, the enlightened rebellious principle against divine authority. This is the philosophical engine beneath the political agenda — the belief that the Controllers are an illuminated priesthood with a divine mandate to govern the unenlightened masses.
Skull & Bones
Order 322
Skull and Bones — officially "The Order," number 322 — is a senior secret society at Yale University. It selects 15 new members annually from the Yale student body. Its alumni include an extraordinary concentration of American power: presidents, CIA directors, Supreme Court justices, Secretaries of State, and the founders of major financial and media institutions.
Both George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush were Skull and Bones members, as was John Kerry — meaning that in the 2004 presidential election, both major party candidates were members of the same 800-person total secret society. The probability of this occurring by chance is vanishingly small. Kerry, when asked about this on NBC's "Meet the Press," said only: "It's so secret, I can't say anything."
Inside the Skull and Bones "Tomb" — the order's Yale headquarters — investigators and former members have described engraved lists of members dating to the 19th century, ritual paraphernalia, and skull-and-bones iconography consistent with a death-and-rebirth initiatic structure. The order's initiation ceremonies are alleged to involve members lying in coffins, confessing their deepest secrets, and being "reborn" with a new name — creating a mutual blackmail structure that guarantees lifelong loyalty.
Bohemian Grove
2,700 Acres of Elite Ritual
Every July, some 2,000 of the most powerful men in the United States — presidents, former presidents, cabinet members, military chiefs, CEOs, media proprietors, and bankers — gather at a 2,700-acre redwood preserve in Northern California called Bohemian Grove. Owned by the Bohemian Club of San Francisco, the grove has been an annual gathering place for this elite class since 1878.
The camp's activities are not entirely secret — its existence and general attendee list has been known since investigative journalists began documenting it in the 1970s. What is less well known is the opening ceremony: the Cremation of Care, in which attendees in robes perform a ritual involving a forty-foot stone owl statue — identified by researchers as Moloch, the Canaanite deity associated with child sacrifice — as an effigy of "Care" (moral conscience) is ritually burned in a boat before it.
Investigative reporter Jon Ronson and filmmaker Alex Jones separately infiltrated Bohemian Grove in 2000 and filmed the Cremation of Care ceremony. The footage is available and shows exactly what researchers had described: robed figures, torchlight processions, and ritualised fire offerings before the owl idol. This is not speculation — it is on film.
Council on Foreign Relations
Founded in 1921, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is the primary foreign policy think-tank shaping American engagement with the world. Its membership of approximately 5,000 includes every significant U.S. Secretary of State since its founding, the majority of CIA directors, Federal Reserve chairmen, senior military commanders, and the editors and proprietors of America's leading media organisations.
The CFR's publications — including its flagship journal Foreign Affairs — have consistently advocated for the reduction of national sovereignty, the expansion of supranational governance, and the integration of national economies under a global regulatory framework. These positions are presented as measured, technocratic analysis. They are, in practice, the policy programme of the control network implemented through the prestige of independent intellectual discourse.
The Trilateral Commission
Founded in 1973 by David Rockefeller and Zbigniew Brzezinski, the Trilateral Commission was created to manage coordination between the power elites of North America, Western Europe, and Asia-Pacific — the three economic "trilateral" blocs. Its founding premise was that democratic governments were "ungovernable" and that significant policy decisions required management by an expert class insulated from democratic pressure.
Brzezinski's founding document for the Commission, The Crisis of Democracy (1975), stated explicitly that the problem with Western democracies was "an excess of democracy" — that populations were too demanding and that governance required reducing public expectations and participation. This document is not classified, not disputed, and not retracted. It is the published worldview of a man who served as National Security Advisor to President Carter and whose intellectual framework shaped U.S. foreign policy for decades.
The Bilderberg Group
Since 1954, roughly 130 of the most powerful politicians, bankers, corporate CEOs, media owners, and military officials from Western nations have gathered annually at a different luxury hotel for three days of closed-door discussions. The meeting has no official minutes, no press access, and no public record of discussions. Attendees are asked not to publicly attribute statements made inside to specific speakers.
The Bilderberg Group's steering committee decides who to invite. Over its seventy-year history, an extraordinary proportion of its attendees have gone on to become heads of government in their respective nations within the following two to four years. Critics note that the selection of future leaders for advance vetting by an unaccountable private group — without any democratic mandate — constitutes precisely the kind of hidden governance that democracy is designed to prevent.
Symbolism in Plain Sight
The control network communicates through symbols that are visible everywhere but understood only by the initiated. Their placement in public settings satisfies an occult requirement — that consent, however uninformed, is technically obtained by displaying intent openly:
The Dollar Bill
The unfinished pyramid with the all-seeing eye above it — the Eye of Providence — on the reverse of the U.S. one-dollar bill is the most widely circulated Masonic symbol in history. The phrase "Novus Ordo Seclorum" beneath it translates as "New Order of the Ages."
Washington D.C. Street Layout
The street grid of Washington D.C., designed by Freemason Pierre Charles L'Enfant, forms a pentagram pointing toward the White House when viewed from aerial perspective — documented by the U.S. House of Representatives' own architectural records.
The Corporate Eye
CBS's all-seeing eye logo, AOL's eye of awareness, the Eye of Providence in Fidelity Investments' logo — dozens of major corporate identities use variations of the eye symbol, the pyramid, the torch, or the owl. This does not happen by coincidence at this scale.
Obelisks
Obelisks are ancient Egyptian phallic sun-worship symbols. Washington Monument, the Vatican obelisk, Cleopatra's Needles in London and New York — the three major power centres of the Western world all prominently display this symbol of the same ancient occult tradition.
